I am Tired of the Whining of the Anti-Woke Folks
Florida Man and governor, Ron Deeee Santis (rhymes with “mantis” as in “praying/preying”) has announced he will be running in the next Republican primary race against Trump, a few other folks most of America has barely heard of, and, of course, reality itself.
He’s already run into reality’s wrath during his technically challenged Twitter Spaces announcement (did they try turning it off and back on again? Reset the PRAM? Defrag the hard drive?) and in the terrible choice to have Elon Musk “endorse” him. After what Musk has done to Twitter, should anyone be trusting a presidential candidate he supports?
And then there’s his ongoing feud with with Disney. You may have heard of the media company as they have been entertaining the globe for a century. Who do you think America will vote for in November of 2024? Biden? Or the guy who hates the giant mega-corporation that has brought more joy to people of all stripes since 1923?
The real problem with DeSantis isn’t even his reality-taunting behavior but his whining about “wokeness.”
What is this “wokeness” you speak of, Earthman?
You are probably aware of what “wokeness” is but in a nutshell, it means you ackknowledge your own and society’s bigotry and want to work toward equal rights for all. In short, it means you’re an anti-racist, an anti-sexist, an anti-homophobe, an anti-transphobe, and probably aren’t afraid of a man in a dress, either.
DeSantis can’t shut up about this concept even going so far as saying “Florida is where ‘woke’ goes to die.”
Sorry, Mr. Dee, you’re thinking of old people. (I can say that because I’ve passed the half-century mark, myself!)
“Woke” is a concept people respect and believe in. You keep using the terms “woke” and “wokeness” over and over and over and people are going to start comparing you to another politician who is really good at making bad decisions, Rudy Giuliani!

Believe you me, Mr. Dee, you do not want to be compared to that guy. He said the words “nine” and “eleven” so many times, it’s hard for most of us to think of the actual September 11, 2001 attacks before thinking of Giuliani. We got so tired of hearing “nine eleven” from him that nobody voted for him. Eventually he found himself selling presidential pardons behind a van by the water front. So sad!
So shut up already about wokeness. It’s not the insult you think it is and, while it is the dogwhistle you think it is, you’re going to need more than just your racist supporters to win against Biden. I know we, on the left, are not too happy with our single option, but given the choice between a guy we had never heard of before 5 years ago (you) and an 80 year-old career politician (and potentially a first woman president), I think it’s obvious you’re not going to make it to the White House, Mr. Dee. Especially if you keep whining about wokeness!
AFTER ALL:
America is facing very big, very real problems and denying most of them, as you do when you announce your “anti-woke” status, you are just making our point: that you are a racist, sexist, unAmerican bigot who is too afraid to face the reality of American history and the inequality that still plagues the United States of America today.
